SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX. ;)
obviously the title of this post was thought of by someone with a great big moustache - my dad. HAH, i have never heard him repeat that line so many times before. but yesterday he did and boy, can that be SO annoying.
so i caught the whole thing on HD and read the entire dissection of the race in the newspaper [today]. i like that they classified it into laps so that its wayyy easier to understand and digest. i have to admit i have always liked fast cars [my dream was a red one HAHA but not a fan of striking red ferrari] but had little interest towards F1. honestly, i only knew the likes of schumacher [who is NOT racing alr/retired btw, just in case anyone who's reading this doesnt know - but WHO AM I KIDDING?] =O oh yeah, and the names of raikkonen and hamilton.
come to think of it, i hate both raikkonen and hamilton. one's an iceman who looks like he couldnt be bothered by the media nor his immediate surroundings; the other's a playboy. yeah, i know i ought not to classify people into categories, but IT IS THE TRUTH.
my take? I THINK FORMULA ONE IS PURE ADRENALINE AND IM A CONVERT. FOR ONCE, THERE IS A SPORT THAT COMBINES ACTION, DRAMA AND CRASH BOOM BANG ! have to admit that the accidents were COOL. [even more so since no one got hurt] :P and AND AND - i have become a fan of FELIPE MASSA. i dont care however horrible his season has been. i think he is a rlly good driver. and i dont care that he did not win - it doesnt matter. ;)
brother got his wish cause he was rooting for ALONSO all the way and i must say he had some foresight, although i choose not to believe in it. :P but you cant rlly put someone down just because problems cropped up regarding his engine and he was 15th for the qualifying rounds.
in conclusion: felipe massa's dramatic and swift fall from leader of the pack to the last position was a huge surprise. due to an unforeseen technical glitch - refuelling, i think, back at the pit stop. and team mate kimi raikkonen dashed the hopes of ferrari once more when he skidded along the track and crashed into the side, completely twisting his right front wheel. that erased his 5th place, thus resulting in lewis hamilton of mclaren mercedes, nico rosberg of williams-toyota and fernando alonso of renault taking their respective places on the podium.

was supposed to celebrate my cousin's birthday but got postponed so we all tapau KFC and went to my other cousin's house to watch F1 cause my uncle is a fan. in fact - he has a picture of felipe massa [not one of those magazines or newspaper cut outs; a REAL one] of felipe massa signing a helmet. ANOTHER fact: the entire family was rooting for MASSA. and birthday boy [who is a car FANATIC] was going on and on about the gear box and the other technical terms in relation to F1. >>> only 9 years old. =O bit fascinating rlly.
when that massive cock up/screw up occured to massa, i have never heard so much outrage from the adults AND the kids. everyone was making so much noise that i think we were overpowering the telly's volume, which FYI was already turned up a tad TOO loud. and my other 8 y/o cousin was just going on and on about MASSA THIS MASSA THAT MASSA EVERYTHING. he even called him mas selamat because MAS were his representing letters. HAHA. =D kids are just hilarious.
at the end of the day, i guessed everyone resigned to the fate that a race is not a race until it is over [as quoted from my uncle, the F1 fan] and that at 61 LAPS - anything is indeed possible. kudos to the unknown guy for taking 2nd place and for alonso fighting back to get back what was EVENTUALLY HIS, as well as singapore for doing a good job and putting us on the world map. this truly was an eventful race and a night to remember.
but anws - GO MASSA ! hahaha. :P
k, keep safe and dont drink and drive. ;)
