I DIG THIS FREE FEELING. ;)

it has been said in the newsapapers that the ting tings are gonna be in singapore [most likely] early next year.

so it all started on a few mths before august even started. i heard/read sme where about how BLG wld be coming to s'pore to perform. i think it is kind of a blessing in disguise. anws, i told hamster abt it and subsequently - dawn and gen. gen cause she wld SMEHW be going for the charity run and dawn cuz she hasnt rlly experienced a live gig before and i think she was enticed by the idea of THIS. ;)

FF to present day 31st aug. i SKIPPED ocip team bonding outing just for this VERRRRYYYY special occasion. i was in a serious dilemma okay, but now - I DONT REGRET IT A SINGLE BIT ! =P had class chalet in the afternoon so i went to pasir ris for a while, thinking i wld be able to flex my MJ prowess [mre like lack thereof] but guess what?

WE DECIDED TO CYCLE. and i had to do that in my skinnies. EAAARRRGGH. =/ not exactly the best outfit to do vigorous leg movements in. but we did that for only 1 hr with a slight break in between - which we spent some time at the playground, FEELING DIZZY.

left at arnd 5 plus with dawn [HOT AND SWEATY]. met boon ling, yu qi, yu ai and jasmine at the bus stop. worried that we wld be late for the performance cause the train ride took quite a long time.

arrived at city hall at abt 6 plus. throngs of runners were actually filing in from the various exits. that got me panicking. =( but ham was still at tiong [!!!] so we went to breadtalk to get some munchies. then we ALL met up and hurried to the padang. at first there was no sight of any action going on and the VJs frm MTV Asia [Taya and UTT - HOT; haha] were announcing the winners of the marathons in their respective categories. the entire place was barricaded and i doubt we cld enter. called gen and she said we needed a wristband. [this one got us in a MESS.] we wanted to get sme but unsure rlly. the padang looked somewhat A LITTLE empty.

then i heard smthng that was music to my ears - someone mentioned that she was still waiting for BLG and they still havent appeared. [YAY!!!] so we ALL walked towards the right side of the stage. we got near ths traffic junction and ths area where it was restricted to bands that participated in the NIKE race. we were just dily-dalying there and contemplating our next move whn who wld walk by but B. L. G !!! =O

[editor's note: thought you shld knw that the day before ham went to baybeats with her friend and SAW BLG AND TOOK A PIC WITH THEM. WTH right? =P ] but ths time, dawn and ham totally missed it.

i spotted the tallest member of BLG, paul - guitarist [rightest most] and by golly he is OUTSTANDING literally. then i saw the rest of the members. I KNOW ITS THEM cause paul was wearing the exact same shirt as the one in ham's pic. [EW.] =P then i got star-struck and hyperventilated. i was like >>> "OMG, IT'S BOYS LIKE GIRLS BOYS LIKE GIRLS !" and then i waved to the last guy who [i later on found out] is the drummer of BLG, john.

AND HE WAVED BACK AND SMILED AT ME AND SAID "HEY/HI". [ZOMG !]

then dawn recovered frm her reverie [she was STONING !] and said "hi" in a loud chirpy voice. apparently ham had her back against them. but it didnt matter right HAMOO?

yeah. next up is a brief summary:

walked to the other side of the padang to get a better view. cldnt get into the compounds. PANICKED. saw ex band sr, zoey/joey [ERRR, I DUNNO HAHA] cause she was one of the crew members. many ppl exiting the padang. wanted to buy 3 brown wristbands frm these 2 strangers and bargained it down frm $30 to $20 [CLAP CLAP] but in the end didnt. dawn ALMOST left. [im sorry friend, will never do ths again. =/ ] waited for the YOUNG crew to disappear and then -

WE GOT IN MIRACULOUSLY WITHOUT ANY PASSES OR ANYTHNG ! =O

amazing right? i cant believe our luck too ! and all this time we were feeling so bummed out. =P and whn i went in, i saw gen almost immediately. was so elated that i ran to hug her. she was worried that she was too sweaty but honestly - SO WAS I ! so finally after the great spy experiment performed [pretty gd i say], a few delays, wierd comments, beat-boxing and throwing of numerous stuff like ipod nanos and nike limited edition shoes - THEY CAME OUT. ;)

woots and they sang quite a few songs - but i only knew arnd 3/4 of them. WTV, it was fun anws. [^ pictures above.] when that ended gen left immediately while we went backstage to try and catch the guys and met TABI ! amazing ! but the guys left pretty fast so we decided to have a walk arnd esplanade, to catch sme last day BAYBEATS action.

AND THEN SAW GWEN. =O [wonder who else can we still meet rlly.] caught a bit of jebediah, an aussie band but left cause we were pretty shagged and there were many smokers. [OKAY, the last pt applied to me mostly.]
